When incorporated into the weatherboard assembly, it forms a reliable sealing interface with the corresponding threshold strip, helping to control air, water, draught, light, and sound ingress at the base of doors.
Manufactured from durable, high-performance rubber, the 3020 insert is designed to maintain consistent compression and long-term resilience under regular use. Its flexible profile allows it to conform effectively to the mating surface of the threshold, ensuring continuous contact while accommodating minor movement, wear, and alignment variations in the door system.
The 3020 is suitable for both internal and external door applications depending on whether it is used with WHS or WHG configurations. In external applications, it contributes to enhanced weather resistance and water sealing performance when paired with compatible Thunder threshold strips. In internal settings, it provides improved control of draughts, light, and acoustic transfer.
When installed as part of a complete Thunder system, the 3020 works in conjunction with WHS or WHG weatherboards and the appropriate TL, TM, or TN threshold strips to form an effective perimeter seal at floor level, particularly in high-traffic or exposed locations.
The insert is designed for easy installation within the aluminium holder and can be replaced without removing the weatherboard section, making it suitable for both new-build and retrofit applications where long-term performance and maintainability are essential.
