FireFace Plus is simple to apply without causing any damage to the door’s fabric. It can be installed beneath or between beads and mouldings. A solvent-based contact adhesive is available for securing it. Any small gaps or joints can be filled using Sealmaster Masterseal, a gun-applied intumescent compound that can be sanded and painted over. FireFace Plus can be finished with emulsion or oil-based paints to match the surrounding decor. It can also be stained or veneered.
FEATURES & BENEFITS
FireFace is a thin membrane applied to both sides of thinner or jointed timber door panels, providing up to 30 minutes of fire resistance. It can be removed later without damaging the timberwork. The FireFace membrane contains a reinforced intumescent layer, specially developed by Sealmaster for this purpose. In the event of a fire, the intumescent material expands and chars, insulating the timber surface beneath and delaying heat damage to the door’s integrity. A specialised woven layer between the intumescent material and the timber ensures that even if the panel cracks under extreme heat, the risk of flames breaking through is minimized.
