The 3083 insert is a high-performance neoprene seal designed for use with both the Cyclone WEF and SmartSeal WBC contact strips. These strips are installed between the weatherboard and the aluminium threshold plates, providing a reliable interface for sealing. When incorporated into a Cyclone or SmartSeal threshold system, the 083 insert delivers effective weatherproofing, draught exclusion, acoustic insulation, and light containment at the base of doors.
Made from durable, flexible neoprene, the 3083 maintains excellent compression and recovery, ensuring long-lasting sealing performance for both internal and external applications. It can be easily fitted into the threshold plate and replaced without removing the aluminium section, making it ideal for maintenance or retrofit projects.
The 3083 insert is suitable for doors exposed to regular traffic and varying environmental conditions, including areas requiring a weather-tight seal. When paired with compatible Cyclone or SmartSeal contact strips or weatherboards, it forms part of a complete sealing solution to prevent water ingress beneath the door leaf.
This insert is commonly specified in applications needing enhanced acoustic and light sealing, such as studios, music rooms, interview rooms, and photographic darkrooms. It is also suitable for buildings incorporating gas flood fire suppression systems.
