The 3005 insert is a rubber sealing insert designed for use with the Thunder WGS and WGG aluminium threshold systems. When incorporated into the threshold assembly, it provides an effective interface between the weatherboard and threshold strip, delivering reliable protection against air, water, draughts, light, and noise ingress at the base of doors.
Manufactured from durable, flexible rubber, the 3005 insert is engineered to maintain consistent compression and long-term resilience under regular use. It conforms to the mating surfaces of the weatherboard and threshold, helping to ensure a tight, continuous seal while accommodating minor movement and alignment variations in the door system.
The 3005 is suitable for both external and internal door applications when used within WGS or WGG threshold configurations. In external applications, it supports enhanced weather protection and water resistance when combined with the appropriate Thunder threshold strip and weatherboard. For internal applications, it contributes to improved acoustic and light control performance.
When installed as part of a complete Thunder threshold system, the 3005 insert works in conjunction with WG or WH weatherboards and TL, TM, or TN threshold strips, depending on the application. It helps form a reliable perimeter seal at floor level, particularly in high-use or exposed door locations.
The insert is designed for straightforward installation within the aluminium carrier and can be replaced without removing the threshold system, making it suitable for both new-build and retrofit projects where ease of maintenance and long-term performance are important.
